Poems from Cindy Sippel
HALF A WORLD AWAY
You work hard
Every night and day,
To keep us safe
Half a World Away.
Always on our minds
For each of you we pray,
For God to Bless you
Half a World Away
You fight for our Freedoms
While we work or play,
And send our love from
Half a World Away.
In wet muddy trenches
Your head you may lay,
While we sleep in a warm bed
Half a World Away.
We send our thanks
And love every day,
"˜til you're home again
From Half a World Away

STILL HALF A WORLD AWAY
We wait and we wait
Here in the USA,
While you are in ICU
Still Half a World Away!
We pray and worry
Both night and day,
The waiting is horrible
Still Half a World Away!
On a ventilator, with IV's
And dressings - you lay,
Injured while serving
Half a world Away
You gave it your all
For the freedoms of the USA,
In the Mountains of Afghanistan
Half a World Away!
Now, in Texas at BAMC
We're beside - come what may,
We love you always
No longer Half a World Away!

NOT HALF A WORLD AWAY
Time has stood still
While we waited for today,
Finally you are here
Not Half a World Away!
We welcome you back
To the good ole USA,
So glad you are here
Not Half a World Away!
We cry, laugh and smile
There is so much to say,
Our hearts complete since you're
Not Half a World Away
So much has happened
There is much to say,
Now that you are here
Not Half a World Away!
We're proud of you all
And beside you - we'll stay,
Let's enjoy your time here
Not Half a World Away!
