Petty Officer 3rd Class David M. Mudge, 22, of Sutherlin, Oregon, died November 28, 2009, in a non-hostile accident aboard USS Rentz while in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. Petty Officer 3rd Class Mudge was assigned to the USS Rentz with the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group based in San Diego, California.
