1st Lt. Brandon A. Barrett of Marion, Indiana, was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan at the age of 27.
