Hero Stories for May 2006

Greetings from Zion, Illinois

We love getting notes from HeroBracelet wearers. Here is a picture of me wearing my bracelet. I have worn it in hornor of SPC. John Sullivan and his family for one and a half years faithfully without ever removing it! As a mother of a soldier serving in the Army National Guard we are all Family, and I wear it with pride as if John was my own son. John, and his family are in my heart. I think of them with love, honor, and pride. Always, Leah Sullivent</blockquo

A letter from Ohio.

We got a very nice email and photo from PFC Sarah Hall. Well, the name on my Herobracelet is a man that I've never met. I chose a random Memorial HeroBracelet and received a bracelet in the name of Senior Airman Pedro I Espaillat Jr. from Colombia, TN Air Force, KIA 5/15/04. But when he does talk about the war, he goes right to how the insurgent crumpled after he pulled the trigger. How later, during the firefight, he ended u...

A mother's son goes to Iraq, part 6.

We're happy to present part 6 of our ongoing series from Melody Pigg. Her son, Marshall, is currently serving in Iraq. It's hard to believe that it's already May. May 2005 was a busy and exciting time for us. Michael was graduating from Kindergarten, I was graduating from college, and Marshall was graduating from high school. It's a very exciting time, not only for the graduating Senior, but for the entire family. The years flew by entirely too fast! It seemed like Marshall had just graduated...
