Center for the Intrepid opened in San Antonio

We were fortunate today to witness an amazing ceremony. We made the drive down to San Antonio to the Brooke Army Medical Center to be a part of the opening of the Center For The Intrepid. This is a new facility for the rehabilitation of our Service Men and Women wounded in combat. The facility was amazing, and entirely funded by private contributions. Contributions by all those wearing HeroBracelets for instance. This center is what we are funding with the sale of HeroBracelets and from what ...

From a proud Marine father.

Dear HeroBracelets, Want to thank you for the beautiful bracelets. We've been looking for custom Deployed Marine bracelets for a while and found several websites that offered something similar, but we thought the price was too high or the bracelets were flimsy. Then we found HeroBracelets and knew this was the right place. The bracelets were better looking and a better price than others we found. AND it's really nice to know we're helping to support the Fallen Heroes Fund. Dont know how you c...

Support organizations for Armed Forces.

Great list of support organizations. The Department of Defense discourages the publishing of lists of the names of troops stationed overseas and has terminated the "Any Soldier" form of mailings. This is why we are unable to offer random names on deployed HeroBracelets. There are, however, two resources in this list that can help you with that if you are interested. Unless you know of someone overseas or know of someone who has a loved one overseas, it is difficult to know how you can help. ...

Glad I found this.

We get letters and email on a pretty regular basis from HeroBracelet wearers as well as our soldiers and Marines in the conflict. We're happy to publish these notes. Dear HeroBracelets, A few months back, I was in a restaurant having dinner and noticed the man at the next table wearing a bracelet with a name engraved on it. I had read about these kind of soldier bracelets before and asked him about his bracelet. He told me it was a HeroBracelet and he had been wearing it for over a year and a...

Endings and Beginnings

As a volunteer with Adopt A Platoon, my holiday season begins in November. I start sewing holiday stockings and fill each one with necessities, candy and a small toy. I also sign cards and attach a candy cane to each one. Friends also joined in the fun this year and collected items for me to send. Thanks to their generosity, I sent boxes of filled holiday stockings to my twelve Adopt A Platoon soldiers in Iraq and also to a support hospital in Iraq. I also sent several boxes of cards and cand...

A story from College Station, TX

We were fortunate enough to meet CPL. Sullens. This story was in the local paper. After eight years of enlistment, it wasn't until Andrew Sullens' seven-month stint in Iraq that he received a nickname from his Marine buddies. They started calling the College Station resident "Tackleberry," a joking reference to the character who showed an overzealousness for firearms throughout the Police Academy movies in the 1980s. The nickname stuck after Cpl. Sullens "” preparing for a two-day mission wi...
